Tollywood actor Allu Arjun and Ram Charan’s grandmother Allu Kanakaratnam, wife of Padma Shri awardee Allu Ramalingaiah, died at the 94, on Saturday, according to reports.
Both actors halted the shooting of their respective films to attend the last rites. The mortal remains are at Allu Arjun’s residence, and the final rites took place today in Kokapet.
At the residence, Ram Charan was received by his cousin Allu Arjun, who was emotional.
Their fathers, Allu Aravind and Chiranjeevi, are brothers-in-law. Chiranjeevi was in charge of the arrangements for the rites.
Allu Arjun was in Mumbai for Atlee’s upcoming film and had to fly to Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Ram Charan was in Mysore shooting for director Buchi Sabu Sana’s film Peddi, and he returned to support his family, according to 123 Telugu.
The 94-year-old died early on Saturday at 1:45 am due to age-related issues.
The Telugu film industry and fans are all offering their condolences to the family via social media.
Chiranjeevi made a post on X, early in the morning, saying "Our mother-in-law.. The demise of Kanakarathnamma Garu, wife of Sri Allu Ramalingayya Garu, is extremely heartbreaking. The love, courage, and life values she showed to our families will forever be an inspiration to us. I pray to God that their sacred soul attains peace. Om Shanti."
Actor, producer, and Janasena Party's Andhra Pradesh General Secretary Naga Babu Konidela said on X, “Dear Aravind garu, Vadhina garu, Vasantha garu, and all beloved family members, My heartfelt condolences to you during this time of loss. May you find strength in each other, comfort in cherished memories, and peace in knowing that love never fades. My prayers are with you all“
Pawan Kalyan and Naga Babu will visit the family tomorrow to offer their condolences.
