“D'oh” no more, 'Simpsons' fans, for Fox Broadcasting Company has announced the release date of season 37 of the timeless animated series: the longest-running scripted primetime American TV show in history.

The announcement comes after 'The Simpsons' was renewed for four new seasons in April this year (just before the finale of season 36, which aired on May 18).

According to a TV Insider report, the latest season will be aired on Fox's 8/7c, on September 28 this year. The show's milestone 800th episode is also set to be aired in this season, sometime in 2026.

There will, however, be a change in the number of episodes from this season on, showrunner Matt Selman has said, as per a Variety report.

“We used to do 22 a year. For the next four [seasons], we’re doing 17 a year: fifteen that will premiere in America on Fox, and then two exclusives on Disney+. It’s still a full-time job," he explained.

All 36 seasons of 'The Simpsons' are currently available on Disney+. Other streaming services such as Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Hulu, and Fandango at Home also have the show.

The release of this season of 'The Simpsons' will also coincide with three other releases from the network's animated programming block, called 'Animation Domination'—season 2 of 'Universal Basic Guys', season 3 of 'Krapopolis', and season 16 of 'Bob's Burgers'.

Apart from the veteran original cast, Hollywood outlets report that the new season will feature wonderful additions to the list, including 'Succession' and 'A Real Pain' fame Kieran Culkin, real-life Irish brothers Brendan and Domhnall Gleeson, and 'Community' star Danny Pudi. Meanwhile, Idris Elba, Michael Keaton and Viola Davis will guest star in the Halloween segment, 'Treehouse of Horror'.
