After its successful theatrical run, Ajay Devgn's Raid 2, a sequel to Raid (2018), directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, will have its OTT premiere on Netflix on June 27, the makers officially announced.

Starring Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor in the leads, with Riteish Deshmukh as the principal antagonist, the sequel depicts a new case headed by Devgn's honest and determined IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who is on the trail of a new financial crime.

The first film was based on a true story that involved a raid on the house of a corrupt politician, Rajeshwar Singh (Saurabh Shukla), an operation which uncovered a massive cache of black money and assets, leading to a cat-and-mouse game between Amjad and Rajeshwar.

Raid 2, on the other hand, revolves around a raid on the premises of Dada Bhai, a wealthy and influential businessman, played by Deshmukh. It also features a special appearance from Tamannaah Bhatia, in the now-viral song 'Nasha'.

Aside from a new antagonist, the sequel also explores a different background and context as in the first, which was set in Lucknow. Yet, despite the differences, both films share some similarities in that the central theme remains the same — the fight against corruption.

As per reports, the film, which had its theatrical release on May 1, 2025, surpassed ₹150 crore at the Indian box office within just three weeks of its release, and entered the coveted ₹200 crore club in global earnings.
