Actor Shine Tom Chacko's father CP Chacko passed away in a vehicular collision while travelling from Ernakulam to Bengaluru. The incident happened near Tamil Nadu's Dharmapuri district. As per reports, the collision occurred when a truck, which went off track, rammed into their vehicle.
Shine, his brother, and mother sustained injuries and have been admitted to at hospital in Dharmapuri. However, Shine's father succumbed to his injuries and died in the hospital. Shine's right hand is said to be badly injured and requires surgery, while his mother and brother sustained minor injuries.
The incident reportedly happened at around 6 am. The family had set off on their journey from Ernakulam at 10 pm. The vehicle carrying Shine, his parents, and brother was driven by their assistant.
Reports say Shine's parents were seated in the middle seat of the vehicle while the actor slept in the back and his brother was seated in the front seat next to the driver. The family were said to be travelling to Salem for the purpose of the next phase of Shine's treatment after completing the treatment phase in Thodupuzha.
