Influencer Apoorva Mukhija, known on Instagram as 'the rebel kid', has reactivated her social media profile after a brief hiatus from the digital space following the controversy over the 'India's Got Latent' show.
Apoorva was one of the guests, along with Ranveer Allahbadia, on the show which drew a massive backlash in February after the YouTuber made a crude joke about parents and sex.
Amid the row, Apoorva deleted (or possibly, archived) all of her posts, and unfollowed everyone on her profile.
The influencer made a strong return on Instagram on Tuesday as she shared the screenshots of the acid attack, rape, and death threats she had received during this period.
"And that’s not even 1%," she said indicating the terrifying scale of the backlash she faced.
For one of the posts, she captioned: “Don't take away the story from the storyteller.”
This appeal for humanity, combined with her bold exposition of the threats she received, struck a chord with fans, who sympathised with her in large numbers below the posts.
Allahbadia also recently made a return to his YouTube channel with a podcast featuring Palga Rinpoche, a motivational speaker and former monk.
