David Leitch, the director of Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train has reportedly tapped actor Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, Nosferatu) to star in a "high-profile" action thriller backed by Amazon MGM Studios, Imagine Entertainment and 87North. As per Deadline, the as-yet-untitled project is said to be a bank heist thriller scripted by Mark Bianculli.

No details about the plot and the rest of the cast and crew have been disclosed yet. Interestingly, 87North is the same company that bankrolled Leitch's The Fall Guy and Bullet Train. The banner is also producing new action thrillers such as Love Hurts, Nobody 2, and Ballerina Overdrive.

Nicholas Hoult began his acting career as a child actor in 1996 in Intimate Relations, but it was in 2002's About a Boy that he got his breakthrough role. The film, an adaptation of Nick Hornby's (High Fidelity) is notable for its fun and engaging dynamic between Hoult's and Hugh Grant's characters.

Hoult has been gaining attention for his recent roles, in tentpole films such as Jack the Giant Slayer, the X-Men reboot, and Mad Max: Fury Road, and independent films such as The Favourite, The Menu, Nosferatu and Juror #2

Recently seen in the crime drama The Order, with Jude Law, Hoult will be next seen as Superman's arch-nemesis Lex Luthor in the upcoming Superman movie directed by James Gunn.

Leitch, on the other, has been building a strong repertoire of action films. Including the first John Wick film which he co-directed with Chad Stahelski, who directed the remaining films in the franchise, Leitch has six movies to his credit, among which are three original properties — Atomic Blonde, Bullet Train and The Fall Guy — in addition to two films from existing popular franchises, such as Deadpool 2 and Hobbs & Shaw.
