Nawazuddin Siddiqui thinks Hrithik Roshan looks unconventional, not him: 'I know how to merge in the crowd'

The actor recounted several instances in his life when either he was barred from entering a set or a filmmaker would forget that he was standing next to him

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui feels the word 'unconventional' doesn't apply to him as it applies to only those who stand out in the crowd. He, on the other hand, possesses the ability to become invisible among the crowd.

While speaking at a session during the second edition of the Cinevesture International Film Festival, the actor recounted different experiences where someone either stopped him from entering a set because of how he looked or someone forgot that he was standing right next to them.

But he doesn't think it's a disadvantage even though it used to anger in his early days. During his struggling days when he used to attend different auditions, people treated him with hostility. "I would get angry. You go to someone's office and introduce yourself as an actor and they would ask, 'Who are you?' I would say I am an actor. They would be like, 'You don't look like one.'"

He also recalls a situation on the set of the Aamir Khan-Reema Kagti film Talaash when a security guard forbade him from entering the premises. It took some convincing on his part to be finally given permission.

Interestingly, while mentioning an amusing incident, the actor shared that he is working on a sequel to his Netflix thriller Raat Akeli Hai, co-starring Radhika Apte. "I'm shooting for Raat Akeli Hai Part 2 with Honey Trehan sir at the moment. I would be standing behind him and he would be searching for me. I would then say, 'Sir, I am right behind you'. It is good. I know how to merge in the crowd and I love that. My personality is like that and I take advantage of it, he added.

There are times when he is told by journalists that he looks "unconventional" and he would jokingly reply that he cannot be unconventional-looking when "crores of people" look like him in India and that the really unconventional-looking actor, to him, is "Hrithik Roshan."
