Actress Shweta Tripathi, who made her acting debut with Neeraj Ghaywan's Masaan and recently attained more popularity through the Prime Video shows Mirzapur and Made in Heaven, has announced that she is stepping into production.

Tripathi, who has appeared in a string of serious-minded films like Haraamkhor, Cargo, and the shows Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein and Kaalkoot, says she is now on the lookout for "stories that challenge conventions and offer fresh perspectives."

In a statement, Tripathi said the love and support she has received from everyone over the years inspired her to create her own stories, compelling her to commence a new chapter in her professional journey in which she hopes to work with gifted storytellers to produce impactful tales.

"I want to create a space for stories that spark meaningful conversations, challenge norms, and inspire change. While acting will always be my passion, producing offers me the chance to contribute to the industry in a new and fulfilling way. I'm currently working on my first project, and I look forward to sharing more details very soon," added Tripathi, whose recent appearance was in the second season of Netflix's Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein.

Her other works include Gone Kesh, Mehandi Circus, Raat Akeli Hai, and Rashmi Rocket, aside from being one of the main characters in the Prime Video series Laakhon Mein Ek and the Voot series The Gone Game. In Made in Heaven, Tripathi plays a character in the episode "The Price of Love".
