The 30th Critics Choice Award took place on February 7 in Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar, honouring the best of the best in film and television of 2024. Sean Baker’s Anora, which won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2024, was crowned Best Picture while The Brutalist’s Adrien Brody and The Substance’s Demi Moore won Best Actor and Best Actress respectively.
Though Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine as Light secured a nomination in the Best Foreign Film Category, it was dominated by Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez.
Shōgun, created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, swept the television category by bagging four out of its six nominations, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
