Malayalam actor Meghanathan who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode, Kerala, died on Thurday at the age of 60.
How did Meghanathan die?
Meghanathan died of lung-related illness at around 2 am on Thursday, according to Manorama Online. He is survived by his wife, Susmitha, and her daughter, Parvathi.
His funeral will be held at his residence in Shoranur, Palakkad, on Thursday.
Born in Thiruvananthapuram, Meghanathan was the third child of veteran Malayalam actor Balan K Nair. He was brought up in Chennai and studied at Asan Memorial Association in Chennai and completed his diploma in automobile engineering in Coimbatore.

Meghanathan made his acting debut in 1983 in the film, Asthram. He has acted in more than 50 movies and portrayed antagonistic roles like his father.
His final movie was Kooman in 2022. Meghanathan's popular movies include Panchagni, Chamayam, Chenkol, Oru Maravathur Kanavu, Prayikkara Pappan, Malappuram Haji Mahanaya Joji, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum, Rashtram, Kudamaattom, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu and Action Hero Biju.
Paying tribute to the actor, Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty posted on Facebook, "The acting talent who gave a new look to the villain characters. Tributes to actor Meghanathan."
