Amid allegations of sexual assault and harassment against Malayalam actors emerging, the actors' organisation, AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) may get actor Jagadish as its new secretary. Jagadish said that strong action should be taken against the alleged perpetrators.
This development comes after actor Siddique stepped down as AMMA secretary following sexual assault allegations by actress Revathy Sampath. She has claimed that she has proof against the actor but currently she has no plans to file a formal complaint and will review her decision only if the government assures that she will get justice.
The executive meeting of AMMA scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed as actor Mohanlal would not be able to attend.
Earlier, Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra alleged that director Ranjith sexually harassed her when she auditioned for Paleri Manikyam movie.
