Actor-director Farhan Akhtar, on Tuesday announced actor Kiara Advani as the lead opposite Ranveer Singh in Don 3. Akhtar, on his Instagram account, posted a video making the announcement. “Welcome to the Don universe @kiaraaliaadvani #Don3" he wrote.
Advani took to the social media platform X and wrote, “Thrilled to be part of the iconic Don franchise and to be working with this incredible team! Seeking all your love and support as we set out on this exciting journey together.”
Ranveer Singh replaces Shah Rukh Khan as the iconic character. Shah Rukh Khan had replaced Amitabh Bachchan, who starred in the original version. Priyanka Chopra starred in the film starring Shah Rukh Khan.
The shooting for the new Don film is expected to begin in 2025. The filmmakers, in August 2023, released a clip announcing Ranveer Singh as Don. In the clip Singh is heard saying, "11 mulkon ki police dhundti hai mujhe, par pakadh paya hai mujhko kaun. Main hun Don.”
Ranveer will soon be seen in Singham Again, which also stars his wife Deepika Padukone, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan and others. Kiara Advani was last seen in Satyaprem ki Katha opposite Kartik Aaryan. She will next be seen in Mr Lele alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Vicky Kaushal.
