Actor Arshad Warsi registered his marriage with his wife Maria Goretti 25 years after being wedded. The former MTV VJ and actor got married on February 14, 1999. They met in 1991 The couple have a son and a daughter. In 1999, they got married in a church ceremony and a nikah ceremony.
The couple recently registered their marriage on January 23. Warsi said they registered the marriage for the sake of law. He said the thought never crossed their mind, but, realised its importance while dealing with property matters and that it would be useful after one's demise.
“I hate to share my wedding date with anyone because it sounds so cheesy. Both Maria and I are embarrassed about this! It was never intentional, though,” Warsi said. Warsi, who is known for movies like Munnabhai MBBS and Jolly LLB, was last seen in the series, Asur, which is streaming on JioCinema.
Calling his wedded years crazy, he says, “it's not ‘happy married life’, it’s been a successful ‘married life’.” Warsi said he felt strongly about his wife, right from the beginning of their relationship-- the duo started out as friends.
