Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire, starring Prabhas, will not release on September 28, the makers announced on Wednesday. The film's release has been postponed due to “unforeseen circumstances” and a new date will be announced in due course, production house Hombale Films said in a statement on X.

"We deeply appreciate your unwavering support for #Salaar. With consideration, we must delay the original September 28 release due to unforeseen circumstances. Please understand this decision is made with care, as we're committed to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience. Our team is working tirelessly to meet the highest standards," the banner said.

The big-budget action thriller directed by Prashant Neel of KGF fame also features Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Eshwari Rao, Jagapati Babu and Sriya Reddy in pivotal roles. Salaar marks Prithviraj's Telugu debut as he steps into the role of the antagonist in the film.

The pan-India film has been two years in the making and has been speculated to be part of the 'KGF Universe'.

Neel dropped the first clue when the film's teaser was released at 5.12am—the precise when the boat of KGF protagonist Rocky, essayed by Yash, drowned. Fans have also been talking about the similarities in style and colour tone of the scenes in both films.
