Popular Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui came down heavily on the Hindi movie industry over "big films" that have no story or performances.

He claimed that such big films are causing damage to the industry. In an interview with Indian Express, the actor, who is awaiting the release of romantic-comedy Jogira Sara Ra Ra, which also stars Neha Sharma and Sanjay Mishra in the lead, said big films rarely do well at the box office.

The actor claimed that 97 per cent of such films end up becoming flops. "These are the films which are actually bringing the industry down," he was quoted as saying.

He said choreographers and stunt directors have more to do in such films than the director as these films don't have a story or solid performances. "What’s the director doing in that? What’s the actor doing in that," he asked.

He explained that those behind such films take 10-15 actors and do a film that costs about Rs 60 to 100 crore which people don't want to watch and they become flops.

They have never taken a good actor and made a film of Rs 50 crore, Siddiqui observed.
