Popular K-pop star Moon Bin dies at 25

K-pop star of boy band ASTRO was found dead at his home on Wednesday. 25-year-old Moon Bin was found dead in his home in the Gangnam district of Seoul on April 19.

"We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death," the police officials told AFP.

His music label Fantagio said in a statement on Instagram, Moon Bin “suddenly left us and became a star in the sky.”
 

“All Astro members, Fantagio colleagues, executives and employees who’ve been together for a long time are deeply mourning the deceased in such great sadness and shock,” the music label said, adding that the sorrow of the star’s bereaved family was “incomparable.” The label also asked people to “refrain from speculative and malicious reports”.

Moon Bin debuted in February 2016. Other members of the group ASTRO include Jinjin, MJ, Cha Eun-woo and Yoon San-ha. He was a child actor in the popular K-drama 'Boys Over Flowers'. Moon Bin's sister Moon Sua is also a K-pop singer, part of the girl group Billlie, the BBC reported.
 

Moon Bin was also part of a sub-group called Moon Bin and Sanha. The duo debuted in September 2020. They were due to perform next month in Busan and on May 13 in Jakarta.
