Disney + Hotstar calls off deal with HBO. Catch up on these shows before April 1

From 'Game of Thrones' to 'Succession', many popular shows will be unavailable

Fans of popular shows like Game of Thrones and Succession are in for a major disappointment—streaming platform Disney plus Hotstar has terminated its deal with HBO. Most of the blockbuster award-winning shows have been produced by HBO, and were available to subscribers of Disney plus Hotstar as part of the content deal.

The move reportedly comes as part of Disney plus Hotstar's “cost-cutting measures”. In a statement on Twitter on Thursday, the platform said: Starting 31st March, HBO content will be unavailable on Disney+ Hotstar. You can continue enjoying Disney+ Hotstar's vast library of content spanning over 100,000 hours of TV Shows and Movies in 10 languages and coverage of major global sporting events."

HBO's streaming platform HBO Max is yet to launch in India, which means most of the classics will not be available to Indians once the deal ends. According to reports, as the deal ends, IPL 2023 will also not be streaming on Hotstar for the first time in years. Season 4 of the award-winning HBO family saga Succession will release on March 26.
