It's the first week of February and a bunch of highly-anticipated releases await us on streaming platforms. Here is a quick look at what's arriving on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney plus Hotstar and more.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Disney plus Hotstar

Release date: February 1

This is the most anticipated release this month and arrives on streaming platforms after a successful theatrical run in December last year. A sequel to 2018's blockbuster Black Panther, the Ryan Coogler-directorial is also a tribute to late actor Chadwick Boseman, who played the titular character in the original. Boseman died of colon cancer in 2020. The sequel follows Queen Ramonda, Shuri, and others as they protect their kingdom after the death of their monarch T'Challa.

Release date: February 1

In the comedy special by Grammy award-winning Nate Gargatze, the stand-up comedian gets candid about his work and personal life.

Harlem season 2: Amazon Prime Video

Release date: February 3

The second season of the much-loved series is back as it follows the lives of four girlfriends in the city of Harlem in the US. In the second season, after blowing up her career and disrupting her love life, Camille (Meagan Good) has to figure out how to put the pieces back together; Tye (Jerrie Johnson) considers her future; Quinn (Grace Byers) goes on a journey of self-discovery; and Angie's (Shoniqua Shandai) career takes a promising turn.

Set in the backdrop of Covid-19, this Spamish mystery thriller follows two detectives who arrive in a small town to investigate the case of a missing woman. The woman reappears suddenly, adding to the mystery. The movie features Isak Ferriz and Iria del Rio in lead roles.

Viking Wolf: Netflix

This Norwegian horror film is sure to give you the chills as it follows a 17-year-old girl Thale who moves with her parents to a small town. Her life takes an unexpected turn after she witnesses the gruesome murder of another teenager and then starts having bizarre visions.

Jehanabad: Of Love & War – SonyLV

Release date: February 3

The thriller drama series set in Bihar revolves around a love story in the backdrop of a jailbreak. The show features Ritwik Bhowmik, Harshita Gaur and Parambrata Chattopadhyay in lead roles.

True Spirit: Netflix

Release date: February 3

The film tells the true story of Australian teenager Jessica Watson, who at the age of 16, became the youngest person to sail around the world, solo and unassisted. Over the course of 210 days, she braves dangerous conditions at sea and bouts of loneliness but perseveres through it all. The film is based on Watson's biography, also titled True Spirit.
