Tamil actor Vijay’s much-anticipated next release Beast has been banned in Kuwait, according to reports. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to share the update on Tuesday.

He speculated the reason for the ban could be the ‘portrayal of Pakistan, terrorism’ in the film. “#Beast is banned by the Ministry of Information in #Kuwait. Reason could be Portrayal of Pak, Terrorists or Violence. Recently Indian Movies #Kurup and #FIR were banned in #Kuwait. Of late, #Kuwait Censor is becoming very strict in GCC compared to other countries in the region,” he tweeted.

The action thriller features Vijay as a spy. Beast is scheduled to release in theatres on April 13, and will lock horns with another eagerly awaited film—Yash’s KGF2.

Vijay’s 65th film, Beast is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures. The film features an ensemble cast of Pooja Hegde, actor-director Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Shine Chacko, Redin Kingsley, Aparna Das and VTV Ganesh. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The song ‘Arabic Kuthu’ from the film is already a viral hit.
