Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan might walk out of jail on Friday evening, his advocate Satish Maneshinde said.

Speaking to ANI, Maneshinde said, "We are expecting to receive orders of High Court from HC registry by today evening. As soon as we get the orders we will produce it under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for completing other formalities and get release orders for Aryan Khan."

Aryan, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on October 3 in connection with the drugs-on-cruise case, was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on Thursday. Co-accused Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were also granted bail. While Aryan and Arbaaz are lodged at the Arthur Road jail, Munmun is at Byculla women's prison.

Once the HC gives the order copy on Aryan's bail, his lawyers will have to take it to a special court along with other necessary documents, like sureties. The special court will then issue the release papers, which will have to be submitted to the jail superintendent by 6pm to secure his release this evening. In case of any delay in the procedure, Aryan will have to spend one more night in jail, and could be released on Saturday.

Aryan was arrested after raids by the NCB on a cruise ship in Mumbai. He was denied bail twice before, after which his lawyers moved the Bombay HC.

Opposing Aryan’s bail plea during the hearing on Thursday, NCB counsel Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Anil Singh said Aryan is a regular consumer of drugs for the last two years. Senior advocate and former attorney general Mukul Rohatgi, appearing on behalf of Aryan in the HC, had called the arrest “arbitrary”, adding that the NCB had made no recovery from him, nor conducted a medical examination to show consumption of any narcotic substances.
