Shantini Theva, a Tamil actor and a Malaysian citizen of Indian origin, has filed a complaint with Chennai Police, accusing former state minister M. Manikandan of cheating after being in a relationship with her for five years. She also alleged that the AIADMK politician was forcing her to get an abortion.

Shantini, best known for the film Nadodikal, further alleged in her complaint that Manikandan had even threatened to upload her nude photos and videos on internet if she refused to leave the country.

Manikandan, however, has denied all the allegations and claimed that he did not even know her, reported The Hindu.

Shantini has lodged the complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Against Women and Children, and later released a copy of her complaint to the media. She has also shared their pictures and screenshot of their conversations.

In her complaint, the actor says she met Manikandan in 2017 when he was the minister for information technology. They both got into a relationship and lived together in a house in Besant Nagar in Chennai, the actor says.

Shantini says she got pregnant thrice during their relationship, but each time Manikandan persuaded her to abort, saying that they could have a baby once they get formally married.
