The first teaser for the Friends reunion special, starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, is out.
The teaser features an instrumental version of the theme tune and shows the cast walking into the distance. It will premiere on streaming service HBO Max on May 27.
In the unscripted reunion special, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer will return to Friends’ original soundstage Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California. The long-awaited reunion wil also feature a slew of guests including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, K-Pop band BTS, Mindy Kaling, David Beckham, Reese Witherspoon and so on.
The special was supposed to launch the HBO Max streaming service in May 2020, but plans to film it were repeatedly delayed by the pandemic that shut down production in Hollywood in mid-March. Ben Winston has directed the special and executive produce alongside Friends executive producers Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane. Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Mathew Perry, and David Schwimmer are also executive producing the special.
