Taapsee Pannu has responded to the Income Tax raids last week, and said that she and her family had cooperated with the procedure. Speaking to NDTV, she said: "If there is anything wrong it will come out, I can't hide anything. If I have done something wrong, I will serve the punishment."

She added that she was not sure why she was raided. “When they visited me, I was told my other residences in Delhi and Mumbai are also being searched simultaneously. I was informed. I don’t think I expected that it will happen to me, my family especially. It was very out of the blue for them. They didn’t see it coming at all. They were more perturbed,” Taapsee told The Quint.

She also slammed reports of Rs 5 crore receipts that were allegedly recovered from her home. “I want to know where are these Rs 5 crore? I have not been offered that amount for anything in my life so far. I will frame the receipt for myself,” she said in the interview.

Taapsee had, in a series of tweets earlier, responded to the raids and spoke of '3 days of intense search of 3 things primarily'. Taking to Twitter, she wrote, “3 days of intense search of 3 things primarily. 1. The keys of the “alleged” bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner. 2. The “alleged” receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before 3. My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister”. She was responding to Nirmala Sitharaman's statement that the 'very same 3 names were raided in 2013.'
