Actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli have named their daughter Vamika. Anushka Sharma took to Instagram and wrote, “We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one Vamika has taken it to a whole new level! Tears, laughter, worry, bliss – emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes! Sleep is elusive but our hearts are SO full. Thanking you all for your wishes, prayers and good energy.”
Anushka and Virat were blessed with a baby girl on January 11. “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time,” Virat wrote in a note posted on social media.
The couple had requested the paparazzi to respect their child's privacy until she is mature. Sending out goodies to the photographers, the couple had also added a personalised letter requesting them not to share pictures of their baby. “We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support. While we will always ensure that you get all the content you need us featuring us, we would request you to kindly not take or carry any content that has our child,” they wrote in the letter.
