The residents of the Dubba Tanda village along with Siddipet district authorities in Telangana have constructed a temple in honour of Sonu Sood and his philanthropic work. The temple was inaugurated on Sunday, according to reports.
"He helped so many people during the pandemic. It's a matter of great delight for us that we've constructed his temple,” a local resident told ANI.
Responding to the news, Sonu Sood tweeted: “This is an extremely overwhelming moment. But at the same time I don’t deserve this. I’m just a common man who helped his brothers and sisters.”
Sood was hailed as a ‘superhero’ and ‘messiah’ because of the humanitarian work he has done since the lockdown. He helped thousands of stranded migrant labourers reach their homes in villages and towns across India during the lockdown. He also helped many students who were stranded in different countries to return home.
Don’t deserve this sir.
