One billion and counting: 'Rowdy Baby' continues to shatter records on YouTube

The dance number of Dhanush and Sai Pallavi, 'Rowdy Baby', from the movie Maari 2, continues to set records on YouTube.

Composed and choreographed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Prabhu Deva, respectively, the peppy dance number has now crossed over one billion views.

Taking to Twitter, Shankar Raja expressed his delight over the dance number setting new records, saying it was a “sweet surprise.”

“It was a sweet surprise for me when I was notified by my fans, that the Rowdy Baby has created another milestone, & has reached billion views, Alhamdulillah. Thanking everyone on this,” he tweeted.

We are honoured that this is the first South Indian song to reach 1 billion views, wrote Dhanush on Twitter, adding that he is happy that 'Rowdy Baby' crossed one billion views on the same day as the ninth anniversary of 'Kolaveri di."

"What a sweet coincidence this is ❤️❤️ Rowdy baby hits 1 billion views on same day of the 9th anniversary of Kolaveri di. We are honoured that this is the first South Indian song to reach 1 billion views. Our whole team thanks you from the heart," the actor tweeted.

Sai Pallavi too too took Twitter to say: "Thank you all for owning Rowdy baby ❤️ 1 Billion love and counting."
