Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film Dil Bechara premiered on Disney + Hotstar on Friday, and celebrities and fans are showering love on the film.

Director Hansal Mehta showered praise on Mukesh Chhabra's directorial debut. He said that the film left him teary-eyed. "It is a charming film, a good adaptation and a wonderful debut by Mukesh Chhabra. The choice of location, the cinematography and ensemble cast are very good. Watch #DilBechara to remember Sushant and his body of work. Watch it also for Mukesh Chhabra's assured debut. The film had me weeping... The tragedy of a life gone too soon or the tragedy unfolding with young lives on screen both had me muddled up and teary eyed - even in moments of humour. And that title track by @arrahman and #AmitabhBhattacharya is a mesmerising melody. #DilBechara" Mehta tweeted.

Sushant’s friend and Pavitra Rishta co-star Ankita Lokhande posted the film’s motion poster and said ‘One last time’.

After watching Dil Bechara, Bhumi Pednekar who worked with Sushant in Sonchiriya wrote, "Full of emotions, overwhelmed and can't stop tearing up. What a class act. So endearing and seamlessly done Sushant. Never experienced something so weirdly painful and beautiful. What a last dance. What a treat for all your fans and loved ones. Mukesh Chabbra, so well done. Sanjana Sanghi, welcome to the movies. Kizzy, Manny and their world is so lovely, such a sweet and moving film. Full of love."

Singer Neha Kakkar said that Sushant Singh deserves the National Award for Best Actor for the film. "Dil Bechara is one of the most beautiful films of all times. Sushant should be given National Award for Best Actor and Mukesh Chhabra the Best Director this year. Sanjana Sanghi too. This is the least we can do for this great movie for the great Sushant," she wrote on Instagram stories.

Singer Armaan Malik said the film left him numb and recommended people to take their own tome to wathc the film, as it’s not easy. "Just finished #DilBechara and it’s left me so numb. Hug your loved ones tell them you love them. Speak to them laugh with them cry with them. You just don’t know when you will get that time with them again. Make those moments count. I’d recommend people to watch #DilBechara at their own speed and time. It’s not easy watching it at all. It chokes you up in so many sections," he tweeted.

The directorial debut of casting director Chhabra, the film also features Sanjana Sanghi, Swastika Mukherjee, Saif Ali Khan and Jaaved Jaaferi.

The film is a remake of the popular Hollywood film The Fault in Our Stars, based on author John Green’s book by the same name.
