Audible, a part of e-commerce giant Amazon, on Thursday launched an India-first audio service 'Suno'.

Audible Suno, which will be available via a separate Android app, provides free and advertising-free access to hundreds of hours of original audio entertainment in Hindi and English, a statement said.

Suno includes more than 60 original and exclusive audio series available at launch, it added.

iOS users can also listen to Audible Suno series for free by downloading the Audible app and creating an account, it said.

The service showcases the voices and talents of Amitabh Bachchan (Kaali Awaazein), Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar (Picture Ke Peechhe), Anil Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Vir Das, Diljit Dosanjh and others.

"Audible Suno is a world-first for Audible, and reflects our commitment to creating exceptional entertainment for our Indian customers," its founder and CEO Don Katz said.

Audible Vice President and Country Manager India Shailesh Sawlani said since its founding in 1995, Audible has worked in service of a singular purpose of igniting the power of sound to entertain, inspire and move listeners, "which we will now further with the launch of an India-first offering Audible Suno".

Audible had forayed into the Indian market offering its audio books on a subscription model.
