Malayalam actor Shane Nigam, who has been facing a ban from the Kerala Film Producers' Association (KFPA), may not have it easy anytime soon. According to reports, the young actor may face a ban not just in Mollywood, but in other film industries also.

The Kerala Film Chamber has written to the South Indian Film Chamber to ban him from working in other languages, too, Manorama News reported. The move is based on request from the KFPA.

While discussions were on between the producers' body, Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) and Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) to revoke the ban on the young actor, matters took a turn for the worse with the actor passing a comment that further irked producers. On Monday, while Shane was at the International Film Festival of Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram, he was asked about the ban and the ongoing talks. When he was asked him a question about the ‘manovishamam’ (mental pain) of the producers, Shane replied, ‘Don’t know if the producers have manovishamam or manorogam (mental illness).’ This remark has further angered members of the film industry, and AMMA and FEFKA withdrew from the talks.

Seeking the intervention of the Kerala government into the issue relating to his ban, Shane Nigam had met state Cultural Affairs minister A.K. Balan and explained the problems faced by him in the industry. Shane along with his mother and Ishq director Anuraj Manohar called on the minister and narrated the issues being faced by him following the ban imposed on him by the film producers.

A memorandum was also submitted to the minister in this connection.
