The trailer of Telugu film Saaho, starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor will release on Saturday. With social media brimming with posts on Saaho, this is certainly one of the most anticipated action thrillers this year. The film's teasers (in multiple languages) which released in June, received about 80 million views, which again is one of the highest ever.

But what makes this action thriller one that is so eagerly watched out for?

  1. Prabhas returns: Telugu actor Prabhas turned into a national figure after his portrayal of the title role in the superhit Baahubali series. Saaho marks Prabhas's return to the big screen after Baahubali, which shattered box office records in the country. Saaho will feature Prabhas in a totally different macho avatar, pulling off high-octane stunts. Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor also makes her Telugu debut with Saaho. Considering Prabhas's national appeal, the movie will be dubbed into Hindi and Tamil.

  2. Visual effects: Ever since Saaho's teaser released, it's been lauded for its VFX. A far bigger venture than Baahubali, Saaho is also said to have the maximum number of VFX scenes ever filmed. Saaho is bankrolled by V Vamshi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banner UV Creations on a budget of Rs 300 crore.

  3. Stunt choreographer from Hollywood: Saaho has also been referred to as the country's Mission Impossible, with stunt scenes taking on a whole new level. The task was handled by legendary Hollywood stunt choreographer Kenny Bates, along with other action directors. The stunt scenes were shot extensively in Dubai, reportedly shelling out Rs 90 crore for the action sequences. Sources told Deccan Chronicle that Bates was awestruck by Prabhas’ commitment. “He fell in love with the actor’s attitude when it came down to pushing the envelope for action scenes,” the report stated. Prabhas also reduced 8kgs, and was put on a strict diet regimen for the shoot.
