A fire broke out on the sets of actor Chiranjeevi's upcoming historical Telugu movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in Hyderabad on Friday, but no one was injured, officials said.

Fire department personnel brought the blaze under control.

A set resembling a fort, built near Gandipet Lake, was gutted, they said, adding that no one was present at the spot at the time.

"We received a call at around 5.30 am...nobody was injured in the accident. Loss of damage has not yet been estimated," a fire department official said.

In his Facebook post, Chiranjeevi's son and film producer, Ram Charan, said, "Unfortunately, a fire broke out on our 'Sye Raa' set in Kokapet earlier this morning.

Thankfully, everyone in the team is safe and no one is hurt. We are really looking forward for our last schedule to finish."

While Chiranjeevi is playing the lead character, Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Rushi and Tamannaah Bhatia are also playing important roles in the movie.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a biographical film based on the life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who revolted against the atrocities of the East India Company 10 years before the Sepoy Mutiny in the 19th century.
