Fans expect the actor to give clarity over his politics at the May 9 function

At a time when Rajinikanth’s political entry is much expected, his upcoming flick Kaala is all set to talk on politics and is expected to help the superstar woo the neutral voters who are looking for an alternative in the Dravidian land. The makers of Kaala, a Pa Ranjith directorial, are gearing up for a grand audio launch on Wednesday at the sprawling YMCA ground in Chennai. The audio launch, unlike others, will talk itself on the actor, his politics and much more, while its music composer Santhosh Narayanan will perform live along with his team.

A rejuvenated Rajinikanth, who just concluded his latest foreign trip, will not only enthuse his fans worldwide, but will also catapult himself to the political platform. Sources say through the audio launch, unlike that of his recent films which were held in Malaysia and other foreign countries or just on Twitter, the actor would like to test the waters.

It was in March this year, Rajinikanth interacted with the young voters at an event held to commemorate the MGR centenary. He answered a slew of questions lingering in the minds of common man and even went on to say that he comes to politics as there is a vacuum after Jayalalithaa's death and due to the absence of ailing Karunanidhi.

Now in the next big event, where several thousands of his fans are expected to gather, Rajini cannot afford to skip talking politics, or at least dropping hints combined with puzzles. Sources say the actor will choose to talk about his fan clubs and what he has in store for his fans in the near future. More details about his Rajini Makkal Mandram is likely to be spelt out, say sources.

On the other hand, the film Kaala, too, will talk politics and the life of the down-trodden while portraying him as the mascot of the masses, like in his earlier hit Kabali. In Kaala, Rajinikanthy's character lives in Dharavi, one of the biggest slums in Asia.

In the Kaala album preview, released on YouTube by its makers, Pa Ranjith and Santhosh Narayanan talk in detail about the background of each of the eight songs. “The film set in the background of Asia’s second biggest slum, Dharavi, has collective emotions in it,” says Ranjith.

“Kannamma is the most important song. I planned it in a way that the entire sole of Kaala should be on this particular song. Both Ananthu and Pradeep have contributed their bests,” explains Santhosh about one of the melodies.

Lyrics of the other numbers like Theruvilakku velichathula naanga munneri varuvom uyaarathula (In the brightness of the street light we will witness heights) and Nilamey Engal Urimai (Land is our right) show how the story line is built around politics and catapulting Rajinikanth to the next level in his just begun political path.

With first few lines of the lyrics and the explanation for each number by Santhosh and Ranjith, the album preview makes it apparent as to how Kaala’s songs might not follow the pattern of the superstar’s usual upbeat tracks. The recently released single Semma Weightu is a mix of rap and bass that had already lured the Rajini fans.

With a plenty of rap and beat boxing, melody and emotions running down each of the songs in the Kaala jukebox seems to be tailor-made for Rajinikanth to project his image as a savior of the people. Kaala will be an action drama, with all the gala is all set to project Rajinikanth’s gangster image.

The film is all expected to witness, unity, power, violence and emotions running down not just through the songs but through his fans to turn them into votes in his soon-to-come political journey.
