The Indian Army has undertaken an initiative to rename several roads, buildings and other facilities across its establishments.
According to news agency ANI, the move is aimed at discontinuing the colonial legacy and strengthening an institutional identity rooted in India’s own history and ethos.
The new names will honour India’s gallantry awardees, war heroes and distinguished military leaders. It will also foster pride in national heritage and service values, Army officials reportedly said.
