The Indian Army has joined hands with Delhi’s Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) to meet the software and AI-based requirements of the force, officials said on Monday.
The MoU has been signed with NSUT, a leading technological institution in the country, the Army said in a post on X on Monday. Students and the faculty of NSUT will participate in "live problem-solving projects" for the Army to gain hands-on experience, as the MoU entails collaboration for the "development of software and AI-based solutions for the Indian Army", it said.
Taking to social media, the Army said that NSUT will also facilitate capacity building through faculty development programmes and tailor-made programmes for the Indian Army, strengthening indigenous, innovation-driven defence preparedness.

“Under the MoU, the students and the faculty of NSUT will participate in live problem-solving projects of the Indian Army and get hands-on experience. Delhi-based Netaji Subhas University of Technology, formerly the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, is a state university that was established in 1983. One of India's most reputed universities in the domain of technical education, NSUT secured the 57th rank in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2024 in the Engineering category.

As per the official website, the departments of the institute include Biological Sciences Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Information Technology, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Management Studies, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, the Department of Personality Development, the Department of Design, the Department of Architecture and Planning, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Development (IEV), and Geoinformatics.
