Social media is abuzz with tweets showing images and videos of a potential embarrassment for India's multi-role fighter aircraft Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas at the ongoing Dubai Air Show.
The Indian Air Force is in Dubai to participate in the Air Show with the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and LCA Tejas.
Now, videos of LCA Tejas that are widely being circulated online allegedly show that there was an "oil leak from the fuselage right on the tarmac". It is to be noted that one of the users circulating these videos goes by the handle 'Pakistan First'.
THE WEEK could not independently verify the authenticity of the videos circulating online. One cannot rule out the possibility of attempts to discredit India's bold push to showcase its defence products and capabilities at the Dubai Air Show.
"At the Dubai air show, the Indian Tejas jet faced embarrassment after reports of an oil leak surfaced," claimed a user.
"Reports from the Dubai Air Show 2025 indicate that an IAF Tejas aircraft experienced an apparent oil leak on the tarmac. Personnel placed several bags beneath the aircraft to catch the leaking fluid, leading to widespread discussion online," wrote another user.
Another user claimed, "Tejas leaking oil at Dubai Airshow reflects poorly on the IAF."
"Reports from the Dubai Air Show 2025 suggest that an IAF Tejas jet—already known for previous technical issues—experienced an OIL LEAK," wrote a user, who goes by the handle 'Pakistan First'.
"Oil Leakage of Tejas at Dubai Airshow 2025. A very embarrassing moment for Indian Air Force," wrote 'Pakistan Strategic Prism'.
