Defence Minister Rajnath Singh noted that while the terrorists killed innocent people in Pahalgam on the basis of their religion, the Indian security forces neutralised the terrorists not on the basis of their dharma (religion) but on the basis of their karma (deeds).
Under Operation Sindoor in May, precision strikes were carried out by Indian security forces on multiple targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir linked to terror groups.
Speaking during the inauguration of a Defence & Sports Academy in Jodhpur on Monday, the defence minister said Indian security forces gave a befitting reply to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, hitting targets with precision.
“Nation’s security is not just Govt’s or military’s duty, but of every citizen,” said Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh at the inauguration of Defence & Sports Academy in Jodhpur. Singh said India believes in the principle of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (the universe is one family) and does not discriminate on the grounds of caste or religion, but the terrorists killed people after identifying their religion.
The defence minister said people in border areas provided full support to the armed forces during Operation Sindoor, which is a testament to the fact that the security of the nation is not just the responsibility of the government or the military, but of every citizen.
Highlighting the importance of initiatives such as the Defence & Sports Academy, Singh asserted that the amalgamation of defence, education and sports is crucial to building a secure and strong nation. “Education provides knowledge while defence ensures security. Qualities like perseverance, discipline, patience and determination are as important to a soldier as they are to a sportsperson. Students who are products of this confluence of defence, education and sports can make the country proud both at national and international levels,” the defence minister said.
