It appears that there is no end to the misinformation campaigns and falsehoods spread against India and its defence forces, even months after India temporarily suspended Operation Sindoor.
The latest in the line of fabricated stories, possibly originating from Pakistan, is a manipulated video in which Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi is heard admitting to losing more than 250 soldiers in the war against Pakistan.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) which actively fact-checked and debunked numerous false claims and misinformation circulating about Operation Sindoor, ever since the operation was launched, clarified that the video being circulated about General Dwivedi is an AI-generated deepfake video.

Chief of Indian Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi has made NO such statement, the PIB Fact Check division clarified.
"Deepfakes are being used to mislead and spread disinformation. Always cross-check with official sources!," it further said in a social media post.
The deepfake video was being spread even as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserted in the Lok Sabha on Monday that no Indian soldier was harmed in the four-day military stand-off between India and Pakistan.
