Reveals he had to sleep in the office sometimes because of workload

Elon Musk admitted that heading Twitter has been "quite painful" and a rollercoaster ride. "It's not been boring. It's been quite a rollercoaster," he said during an interview to BBC which was live-streamed on Twitter Spaces.

The billionaire businessman said he is ready to sell Twitter if he finds the right buyer. He, however, would not agree to selling it for $44 billion, the price at which he acquired the microblogging site in October.

Despite finding it tough to run the company, Musk said he feels that buying the microblogging site was the right thing to do.

Musk revealed that he had to sleep in the office sometimes because of the workload.

He said the company is now down to 1,500 employees from 8,000.

Further, the Twitter CEO said he did not know what happened when Twitter took down content related to a BBC documentary that was critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government, in January, had asked Twitter to block over 50 tweets linking to the video of the documentary.

"The rules in India for what can appear on social media are quite strict and we can't go beyond the laws of the country," Musk said, adding, "If we have a choice of either our people go to prison or we comply with the laws, we will comply with the laws."
