Sea of Thieves: the pirate dream calling!

Sea of Thieves is the perfect pirate-solution for your Caribbean craving

Ahoy there! Up for an adventure in the high seas? Call it the Jack Sparrow effect or the Caribbean craving, we all would love to set sail and pirate our way around a dangerous sea. Sea of Thieves is the perfect pirate-solution. This RPG, is the closest you can get to being a pirate (without breaking any laws). The game puts you in a detailed sea, pitching you against other pirates, who could turn either rogue or (rarely) friendly.

You drink, sail, dig up treasure, defend your ship, attack others, plot against the enemy ship and do everything what a pirate would do.

The initial stage of the game can be a bit confusing but the wonder the game reveals can stay on for a considerable amount of time. Sea of Thieves is a game best enjoyed with other online players—neighborhood co-op or random players. The game offers a good foundation and space for social interaction, with in-game chat and mic.

Sea of Thieves is about stories; the story of a solo pirate searching for treasure, battling traps and sharks; the story of a risqué pirate teaming up with mates to loot and plunder; the story of a crew tackling a fortress guarded by skeletons. And in each story mode, you progress towards a remote level 50—‘Pirate Legend’.

Nature’s beauty and occasional harshness is painted in bold stokes with dazzling lights in perfect harmony with the rich waves of the open sea. The first storm you travel through is beyond description—no other game has managed to capture the spirit of the sea like this before.

If you have ever been on a ship you know why they have so much cool stuff onboard—to help you forget that there is nothing but water around you. After a few hours of Sea of Thieves, sadly, redundancy kicks in and there are no distractions.

The missions are kind of similar, and the rewards are not enough for anything. Even the exiting encounter with the Kraken can be boring, the third time around. These doldrums can be tough to ‘outsteer’, hindering both game-progression and interest.

The ultimate game changer is the people with whom you play. The game can become more fun with the right people. Or the scales could tip the other way and the game could become hell for you.

With commendable ratings, Sea of Thieves is a treasure that evolves as it passes hands. Players are now looking towards the developer, Rare, for future updates that can unleash the full potential of the game.
