The Central Board of Secondary Education is now facing new scrutiny after a class 12 student alleged that the physics answer sheet he was marked for did not belong to him.

The board was already facing scrutiny over its new On-screen Marking System over portal crashes, payment glitches and blurred scans of answer sheets after the class 12 results were up this month.

In a detained thread on X, the student claimed that the physics answer uploaded by CBSE under his roll number was not his.

He even shared screenshots comparing his handwriting to the mismatched answer sheet.

“I am a CBSE Class 12 student. After receiving unexpectedly low marks in Physics, we applied for photocopies of my answer sheets through the CBSE reevaluation process. Today we received the copies. And I am shattered because the Physics answer sheet uploaded by CBSE is not mine,” he said.

He also said that he was sure that the paper did not have his handwriting and did not have the questions he had attempted.

“Not just me — my family, teachers, and everyone who knows my writing immediately noticed the difference,” he said.

The post quickly gained attention.

Many other students also responded with similar complaints.

One student wrote, "I applied for CBSE revaluation. The scanned copy of the chemistry sheet I received does not match my handwriting or written responses. For reference, I am attaching my English answer sheet, which clearly reflects my actual handwriting."

Another student alleged that a student's chemistry answer sheet had two pages completely replaced.

One student requested an investigation, saying, "Applied for a photocopy of my CBSE Class 12 Chemistry answer sheet after unexpectedly low marks. Today, CBSE uploaded a paper that is clearly not mine. Different handwriting and answers. Requesting CBSE to urgently investigate and provide my actual answer sheet."

The new complaints have added to the ongoing controversy regarding the marking and results.

Several students had already alleged that they received lower marks than they expected. This had prompted the board to open a reevaluation and enable access to the answer sheets for students.

Several student also alleged that they have still not received scanned copies of their answer sheets despite successfully making payments.

The new issue came after CBSE acknowledged that it had a temporary technical glitch on its ports during reevaluation.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has directed teams of professors and technical experts to assist CBSE in ensuring a glitch-free re-evaluation process.
