Dehradun, Nov 8 (PTI) The Uttarakhand Congress will launch a statewide signature campaign on November 10 against alleged corruption by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and ministers in the BJP government, a party spokesperson said on Sunday.
The campaign will continue till November 30, with programmes organised at district, block and city headquarters across the state, State Congress Committee spokesperson Pratima Singh said.
In the first phase, from November 10 to 15, signature drives will be conducted at district, block and city levels, targeting corruption allegations against Dhami and Cabinet ministers Rekha Arya, Ganesh Joshi and Dhan Singh Rawat.
Signatures will be collected on designated pamphlets and banners as part of the campaign, Singh said.
In the next phase, a march will be taken out from the state Congress committee office to Raj Bhavan on November 23 in the presence of state Congress in-charge Kumari Selja.
The party will submit banners and pamphlets bearing signatures collected from across the state to the Governor, demanding an impartial probe into the allegations against the chief minister and the ministers concerned, Singh said.
From November 25 to 30, the Congress will organise symbolic courts against corruption at district and metropolitan headquarters across the state, featuring street plays to highlight alleged corruption, misuse of power and other public interest issues.
The party has appointed district and assembly constituency in-charges to coordinate the programmes in their respective areas, she said.
The Congress will continue its campaign, both on the streets and in the state assembly, to raise public concerns over alleged corruption during the BJP government’s tenure and demand accountability, Singh added.
