Patna, Nov 5 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar's Vaishali district on November 21 to inaugurate projects related to an industrial corridor and address a rally, a senior BJP leader said here on Thursday.
According to state BJP president Sanjay Saraogi, preparations for the upcoming tour of Modi were reviewed at a meeting of the ruling coalition leaders at the residence of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
"On November 20, the NDA government (formed after the 2025 Bihar assembly polls) will complete one year. It will be a historic occasion, which will become more special for us with the PM coming on November 21. His visit is scheduled at Jafarpatti, where an industrial corridor is coming up over an area of 1,650 acres," Saraogi said.
Of course, the state will get many gifts from Modi on that day when he is likely to inaugurate many projects, the BJP leader said, adding, "The PM loves Bihar a lot, and he will also address the public at a rally".
Notably, this is likely to be the first tour of the state by the Prime Minister since May, when he was last seen here to attend a function where the ministry of Samrat Choudhary, the first BJP leader to head a government in Bihar, was expanded.
The state BJP president also said, "The second agenda before the meeting was the 'Loktantra Bachao Arajakta Hatao' (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) padyatra, which has, so far, covered 10 districts in Bihar. It was resolved that the remaining districts will be covered after the festive season is over. People will be occupied, in the days to come, with Diwali and Chhath."
Saraogi, who spoke in the presence of other NDA leaders, parried a question about alleged misgivings in the JD(U), headed by Nitish Kumar, who stepped down as chief minister in April, following two Independent MLCs' claim that they had joined the BJP.
The declaration of Bansidhar Brajwasi and Rahul Raj came days after they got elected from Tirhut Graduates and Saran Teachers constituencies, respectively, which were contested by the JD(U).
JD(U) state president Umesh Kushwaha, who was present on the occasion, told reporters, "Please harbour no negativity. The NDA is united. As stated, the meeting at the CM's residence was centred around the PM's tour."
"It is a matter of pride for me, in particular, that the PM is visiting my district," said Kushwaha, who is the MLA from Mahnar, adding, "as far as legislative council polls are concerned, the JD(U)'s performance was reviewed at a meeting held at the party office earlier in the day."
"We contested four seats and achieved victory in just one. All the candidates had turned up at the party meeting. Their feedback has been obtained and future strategy will be chalked out based on the same," Kushwaha added.
