Kolkata, Nov 5 (PTI) A city court on Thursday remanded Dhrubojyoti Basu to police custody till November 13 in a Durga Puja preview show-related financial graft case in which former West Bengal minister Indranil Sen has already been arrested.

Basu, a key functionary of the MassArt Society, with which Sen is allegedly associated, was arrested by the Kolkata Police on Wednesday in the financial fraud case involving Durga Puja preview shows and the sale of passes.

On production before the chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) court here, Basu was remanded to police custody till November 13.

The prosecution sought his police remand for questioning him in connection with the fraud case, in which people were allegedly duped.

The arrests were made on the basis of an FIR lodged at Bowbazar police station alleging that Sen and the organisation had cheated people in the name of religion between 2022 and 2024 by claiming an association with UNESCO to sell preview-show tickets.
