Hyderabad, Nov 4 (PTI) BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Wednesday alleged that the ruling Congress and the BJP were "mortgaging Telangana’s self-respect", with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar behaving in a manner unbecoming of their positions.

Addressing a gathering here, he claimed that the security personnel of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra “pushed” Revanth Reddy in New Delhi.

“You see the video in Delhi. He is going near Priyanka Gandhi, and her security is pushing him. Who is our CM?” he said.

Rama Rao also claimed that Sanjay Kumar, despite being a Union Minister, behaved like a “bouncer”, pushing people during the “padayatra” led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah here two days ago. The padayatra was held against the Congress’s allegedly false narrative on SIR, according to a BRS release.

“Delhi parties will not do justice to us. Congress and BJP are the same,” he said.

He asked whether Shah had announced any development projects for Telangana during his visit.

Hitting back, Sanjay Kumar called Rama Rao a “management quota politician”, saying he himself came from the “merit quota”.

Rama Rao, son of BRS founder and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, had inherited political power through his father’s name, whereas he had earned his place through years of struggle, including “painting walls, tying flags, lathi charges, police cases and jail term”, Sanjay Kumar said.

“A nepo kid like you can only think of belittling me as a bouncer for managing the crowd to avoid a stampede during Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah ji’s Mahapadayatra,” he said in a post on X.

Sanjay Kumar added that Lord Krishna chose to be Arjuna’s charioteer and served without concern for status.
