Hyderabad, Nov 4 (PTI) Questioning Rahul Gandhi's faith in parliamentary democracy, Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Wednesday said the Congress leader's behaviour was unbecoming of a Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.

He also alleged that Congress has "foreign links" and that the debate should take place on the floor of the house.

Hitting out at Rahul Gandhi, Rao alleged that the country, perhaps, has never seen such an "inefficient" LoP who does not understand the language of democracy and parliament.

Though Union Home Minister Amit Shah challenged Rahul Gandhi for a debate in a special session of parliament on SIR and other issues, the latter was not ready to attend the parliament but debate somewhere else, he claimed.

"What sort of faith he has got in the parliamentary democracy," Rao told PTI Videos.

Challenging Rahul Gandhi for a debate in parliament if he has the "guts", he said the BJP would expose the Congress leader's foreign links.

"...they (Congress) have foreign links. They have foreign connections. Congress makes agreement with China. So, who has links with foreign countries, let's definitely have a discussion on the floor of the parliament," Rao said.

It is the duty of the Leader of the Opposition to attend the parliament and debate for the people, he said.

Claiming that Rahul Gandhi "runs away" from parliament, Rao said the former's behaviour is "unbecoming of a Leader of Opposition".

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to an open debate on his charge that the "opposition is anti-national" and asked why the PM has not filed a defamation case against him over his "foreign connections" allegation.
