Krishnanagar (West Bengal), Nov 4 (PTI) West Bengal BJP chief Samik Bhattacharya on Wednesday claimed that the law and order situation in the state had improved significantly under the party's government, accusing opposition parties of spreading baseless allegations to discredit the administration.

Addressing a 'Good Governance and Peace' rally at Krishnanagar in Nadia district, Bhattacharya asserted that the state had moved away from the alleged anarchy, corruption and administrative failures of previous regimes.

"West Bengal is moving forward, leaving behind the extreme anarchy, corruption and administrative failures of the past. Our government has restored true democracy and the rule of law in the state. Common people are now safe and are benefiting from the government's developmental initiatives," he said.

Responding to criticism from opposition parties, the BJP leader claimed that politically isolated parties were unable to accept the positive changes brought about by the state government and were attempting to create an impression of lawlessness through unfounded allegations.

"CPI(M) and other opposition parties are seeking to create lawlessness after being eing rejected by the people in assembly polls in states including West Bengal," he added.

He also urged party workers in Krishnanagar to take the government's achievements and development initiatives to every household and warned against attempts to disturb peace and law and order.

Bhattacharya reiterated the BJP government's commitment to maintaining peace, ensuring administrative accountability and accelerating development across the state since coming to power in May 2026.
