Police arrested the 19-year-old accused on Thursday, a senior officer said.

The incident took place in a village in Kersai police station area on October 24. The girl had been missing since that day, and her body was found in a secluded area near Girma River on Wednesday.

On the basis of a complaint filed by the deceased's father, police on Thursday lodged an FIR against the accused under BNS and the POCSO Act, following which the accused was arrested, the officer said.
