New Delhi, Oct 30 (PTI) Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav has constituted 20 committees to oversee arrangements for the INDIA bloc's November 1 rally at Ramlila Maidan, with responsibilities ranging from accommodation to venue management, sanitation and social media.

According to an official statement, the committees were approved by Yadav to coordinate various aspects of the rally, which is being organised by the opposition alliance to protest against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Yadav noted that observers appointed by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and district in-charges of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) have been conducting meetings across districts to mobilise booth-level workers for the rally.

"The district-level meetings have received a good response from Congress workers as well as the general public," he said.

The Delhi Congress is expecting a turnout of up to 10 lakh people at the rally, with participants expected from across the national capital and other states. The party also plans to deploy hundreds of buses to transport workers to Ramlila Maidan.

Yadav emphasised that Congress leaders and workers are making concerted efforts to ensure the rally's success, following a call from party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.

The INDIA bloc has been demanding Kumar's resignation over alleged electoral irregularities during the SIR exercise, accusing the poll panel of facilitating voter manipulation.
