New Delhi, Oct 29 (PTI) The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Thursday said it has set up an independent division for quality control and technical audits of its projects and made third-party audits mandatory to ensure adherence to prescribed standards.
In a post on X, NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar said the division will oversee projects across departments, including civil works such as roads, buildings, sewerage and water supply, besides electrical and information technology projects.
He said the civic body is also roping in reputed institutions, including the Central Building Research Institute, Central Road Research Institute, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Quality Council of India, IITs, NITs and RITES, to strengthen quality checks.
The move is aimed at ensuring that projects meet the required quality standards while being completed within the stipulated timelines.
"Besides strictly monitoring timelines for our projects, we will have no compromise on quality and standards," Dwivedi said.
