Dehradun, May 18 (PTI) The Dehradun police attached the house of an absconding accused, carrying a Rs 1 lakh bounty, in Jharkhand, officials said on Monday.
The action comes after the daylight murder of Jharkhand-based gangster Vikram Sharma in Dehradun. The accused, Akash Prasad, remained at large for the last three months, police said on Monday.
A team from the Dalanwala police station executed the attachment warrant issued by a Dehradun court. The police team reached Prasad's residence in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand's Singhbhum district to attach the property on Sunday.
Sharma, 50, was shot dead on February 13 this year, outside a gym near Silver City Cinemas on Rajpur Road. Police named eight people as accused in the murder case, including two shooters.
The police declared a bounty of Rs 1 lakh each on the remaining six accused after arresting Rajkumar Singh, his son Yashraj Singh, and Mohit alias Akshay Thakur for conspiring and abetting the crime.
Police are initiating property attachment proceedings against the other absconding accused in the case, the official said.
According to the police, Prasad waited outside the gym on a motorcycle during the crime. Shooters Ashutosh Singh and Vishal Singh fled the spot with Prasad after killing Sharma.
